The Salty Crab Bar & Grill is Coming Back to Fort Myers Beach

The Salty Crab Bar & Grill is officially rebuilding after being destroyed by Hurricane Ian in 2022.

The owners announced they have received final approval to start construction. The new restaurant will be rebuilt on the same spot where it once stood.

Construction is expected to begin soon. The owners say the goal is to reopen within the next year.

Renderings for the rebuild show the same coastal look and feel fans remember, with a few upgrades. The team says they’re keeping the same bright, beachy vibe that made The Salty Crab a favorite for locals and tourists.

Former employees are also being invited to return once the restaurant reopens.

"This rebuild is for you too," the owners said in a statement.

The Salty Crab was one of many beachside businesses destroyed by Hurricane Ian in September 2022.
