A Miami-Dade County deputy is facing serious charges after being arrested in Pompano Beach on Thursday.

The Broward Sheriff’s Office arrested 38-year-old Deputy Terrance Dion Chester on charges of armed kidnapping, domestic battery, and improper exhibition of a firearm or dangerous weapon.

Chester is accused of kidnapping someone with the intent to cause serious harm or terror. He also faces a charge of domestic battery, meaning he allegedly hit or touched the victim in a violent way. Another charge accuses him of improperly showing a firearm in a threatening or reckless manner.

Chester was booked into the Broward County Jail, where he was being held without bond as of Thursday afternoon.

Court records show that all charges are pending trial. Details about what led to the arrest have not yet been released.

The Miami-Dade Police Department has not commented on Chester’s arrest.

This is a developing story.
